Porthcurno
A very picturesque beach and popular with beach-goers in the summer. Access to the beach is difficult and requires a 200m walk along a rough path, down a steep sand dune and across the beach to the water. It is possible with a kayak trolley and 2 determined people and is easier with smaller, lighter kayaks as opposed to fully laden heavy fishing kayaks. Strong tidal flows can be found out past the limit of Logan Rock, flowing back towards Lands End on Spring tides, but conditions are much more benign staying on the inside of Logan Rock. A stunning place to paddle with views of the Minack Theatre and Pedn Vounder beach.
Parking: A Pay and Display car park is located approx. 400m from the waters edge.
Species: Plaice, Dabs, Turbot, Brill, Greater Weevers, Gurnards (Tubs, Reds and Greys), Whiting and Cod to drift fished baits. Rays may show if anchored. Mackerel and Garfish in season. Pollack and Wrasse can be found around Logan Rock.
